Can you believe I found a super cute handbag for a mere $9.99 this weekend??! In need of a little retail therapy, I stopped by my favorite thrift store “Like New” in San Diego’s Clairemont neighborhood. I tried on a few jeans and dresses– no luck in that category. I was pretty much ready to admit defeat and walk out the door when I spotted this cute handbag hanging on a rack by the jeans. Better yet it was priced under $10.
It sounds like this shop has a new addition to their website too– you can shop online. They are in process of adding photos and inventory to the site for easy shopping and purchase.

Hello Everyone! As far as I’m concerned, there’s no therapy like retail therapy. What better way to beat the heat than in an air-conditioned store, right?!
Why not unwind with a little retail therapy at My Sister’s Closet located in the UTC neighborhood of San Diego. My co-workers came back recently from a quick lunch break with several fantastic “finds” and were kind enough to let me take some photos. Look at this really cute Juicy Couture wallet that LD scored for a mere $17.
This wallet is so cute… why hide it in a purse??!
Okay…but wait, there’s more… KC scored three (yes, you read that right– three!) super amazing tops for a grand total of approximately $22 out the door. These are bargain friendly tops that can take you from workplace to wine tasting on a budget.
Hopefully there will be something left in the store for me…. 🙂
This blue top will be so pretty on a summer day. And the fluttery coral top pictured below is perfect to wear on a hot day. Like I said, hopefully there will be a few cute things left for me. Cheers– and happy shopping!
Feeling tired and stressed? Want to soak in a steamy tub with eco-friendly soap? Herbal ingredients calling your name?
Eco Land and Sea is made from an eco-heritage that spans the land and sea.
Get clean with botanical, no palm oil or animal-body fats type herbal soap bars. No detergents added, just pure, natural soap.
You can also stock up on bath salts, bath powder and bath bombs. (oh yesss!) The best part about all of this– the stuff is locally made and eco-friendly. Everything was really pretty. Word on the street– they suds up well. I should know– I met Chris who told me he is the person who makes the soap. Sounds like he is working on some new formulations and made a special order for a customer last week.
I met up with Chris last week at the farmer’s market in San Diego’s UTC neighborhood. He was working the booth and singing the praises of eco-friendly soaps. I just loved these tiny heart soaps priced at a budget friendly 50 cents each.
Lots of lovely choices on the table! And wrapped in delish looking ribbons– by the way they smell just as delish.

When you need a little retail therapy stop by miss match along Newport Avenue by the beach. Colors pop! There was a tray of fantastic bangles by the check-out marked $3. Excellent!
I walked thru the door and was dazzled by the beautiful accessories and cute handbags. I’m in the market for a new purse and this was a great place to “check out the sights.” You can see the amazing brown bag I found in the photo below.
The earrings and necklace selection was delightful. And colorful for that matter. I found an impressive selection of dressy clothes too. I really feel like I did experience retail therapy at miss match. (next time I have a bad day I’ll just go shopping. Bravo!)
Do you ever wake up in the morning with “raccoon eyes”? Eyes puffy and tired looking? Okay, I admit I’ve been there. I tried the obvious like getting more sleep and drinking more water but those were tiny fixes. At one point I was pretty sure I needed to schedule some time with the plastic surgeon!! (but how do you finance plastic surgery on a slim budget??)
Lucky me– I was out on a walk earlier this week and happened to stop by my local CVS drugstore for some retail therapy. As luck would have it I found a miracle in a tiny container– Garnier Skin Renew Anti Dark-Circle Roller. I figured for $12 it was worth a try. Definitely fit into my thrift shopping mindset.
I’ve been using this for the past three days. All I can say is– amazing! It looks like I won’t have to schedule time with the surgeon for awhile.
Tonite I found myself doing a little light window shopping in Kay Jewelers at Westfield UTC. Anyone who knows me well is aware how much I love jewelry. With my whole downsizing mentality lately I’ve tried hard to adopt the “look away from the jewelry” rule as much as possible. But sometimes… ya gotta do more than look away! (At least I do anyway.) I went on a little recon shopping trip as a favor to someone I know last night. Most difficult recon trip ever!! Kay Jewelers is filled with amazing sparklers and it was all I could do to ask questions, gather my intelligence and escape. I figured you all would want to see some of the fabulous sparklers I found. In case anyone is wondering I managed to keep my Visa card under wraps!
14K White Cold 1/3 Carat total weight Diamond Solitaire Earrings $299 (excellent deal)
Sterling Silver 1/4 Carat Black Diamond Hoop Earrings $199 (cute & fun to wear!)
Sterling Silver Cable Chain $29.99 (great find- this is something I’m getting for me!)
Ruby Red Frost Murano Glass Bead $29.99 (I love these Murano glass beads!)
Sterling Silver Lady Bug Charm $39.99 (Lady Bugs are my fave!)
Sterling Silver Diamond Double Heart Key Necklace $79.99 (I keep looking at this…)
I tried to keep this semi cost-effective. There are so many cute things right now it was hard to choose! I’m definitely going back for the chain necklace tomorrow. Happy Shopping!
