Valentine’s Day is coming in like a freight train, and as we prepare for the big day at the flower shop I’m thinking ahead for sweet homemade gifts for C and my friends.

Here are some of my favorites scoured from the internets…

There are few things that make my husband happier than a six pack. Dress up a case of your Valentine’s favorite brew (or soda!) with craft paper, ribbon, and a homemade tag.

Make a cute card with birthday candles and card stock for the person who lights up your life. (This version with a match book is adorable, too.)

Pen a love letter on a coffee cup with a Sharpie paint marker. Bake it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees (F) to make it dishwasher safe!

Who can resist chocolate covered strawberries? Add white chocolate football laces to score major points with your…

Valentine’s Day Cake Pops

Cake Pops! I’ve been wanting attempt these. This looks fun– and they turned out really cute in this blog post I found tonite. Happy Valentine’s Day! cheers!

Brandie Sellers

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wondered how the heck you make those cute tiny cake pops. It was a mystery to me until I found the perfect and easy recipe. I decided my first attempt at this would be the night before Valentine’s Day for my coworkers and my husbands as well. I’m not sure this was the wisest decision considering I started at about 8pm (had errands to run before I could officially start) and wasn’t finished until about 12am. But it was worth it! Overall these were fun to make (would’ve been more fun if I wasn’t pressed for time) and super easy!

Here’s the “How To” so you can stun friends and family with your new found baking talent!

First you’ll need to choose your cake batter and your choice of icing. I went with Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting. I wanted to…

Chuao Chocolatier – Who Doesn’t Love Chocolate??

Valentine’s Day is always a good excuse to make a run to the chocolate shop. After all– who doesn’t love chocolate? I have to admit I have a total sweet tooth. I have to remind myself to “move away from the candy” and not eat the entire container of candy in one sitting. (As we speak, I am writing this blog post while I stare longingly at a red heart box filled with candy….) I was kind of hoping I’d find a few “bad ones”— no such luck– they are ALL good!!

As if that isn’t bad enough tonite I went on a short walk after work and found myself wandering around in the mall. With candy on the brain I figured why not write my blog post about some kind of candy?? Ah… so that being said I walked with purpose into Chuao Chocolatier in the Westfield UTC Mall. Oh yummy– what a delicious place!

I found everything from a Spicy Maya Brownie mix ($12.95) to wine. Pretty cool they sell the wine too. There was a divine table set up at the entrance with roses, red gift boxes filled with candy and ornate cards. If you need a quick gift this would be a perfect place to stop off during a lunch break and/or right after work on the way home.

Happy Valentine’s Day! And happy shopping!
